Domain Transfer Between creoline Organizations
Introduction
If you wish to transfer an existing domain from your creoline organization to another creoline organization, you can complete the necessary steps directly through our Customer Center.
Prerequisites
- Permission to generate auth codes / cancel domains
- Permission to remove the transfer lock (if necessary)
Removing the Transfer Lock
To remove the transfer lock on an existing domain, first navigate to the desired domain via the sidebar: Domains → Portfolio → domain.tld.
Under the “Transfer Lock” entry, select the Change button to remove the transfer lock.
Then select the new status Unlocked and confirm your change by clicking the Save Changes button.
Please note that removing the transfer lock may mean the domain is no longer protected against transfer by third parties. Only remove the transfer lock if you actually intend to transfer the domain to another provider.
Request an Auth Code
Once the transfer lock for the desired domain has been removed, you can request the auth code or, if it has already been stored, view the active auth code. To do so, use the Request Auth Code or View Auth Code button.
Forward the auth code to the owner of the destination organization so that it can be entered in the shopping cart for the domain transfer. Once the auth code has been entered and the necessary domain contacts have been provided, the transfer will be carried out.
Transfer a Domain
A standard domain transfer is also required for internal transfers within creoline, as this always results in a change to the domain owner’s registered information.
Please follow the instructions in our external-to-creoline Help Center article to avoid losing your DNS records using our DNS templates.
